Whincup replicates perfect win in the desert 01 Mar 2010
While Toll Holden Racing Team's Garth Tander was struggling to overcome a disasterous run of bad luck in the Middle Eastern opening double-header,  it was a case of deja-vu for Team Vodafone's Jamie Whincup who replicated his perfect season start with a clean sweep of the Gulf Air Desert 400 in Bahrain. In fact, this weekends top three finishing positions replicated last week’s Yas V8 400 in Abu Dhabi, with Mark Winterbottom in second and  Stone Brothers Racing’s Shane van Gisbergen finishing in third place. The 2010 V8 Championship now returns to Australia for the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide on 11th March.  For championship series points Click Here

Barina lifts its crash safety rating 06 Nov 2008
GM Holden's small car Barina has lifted its crash rating, scoring four stars in the latest tests. The result has been welcomed by the company after the car scored just two stars - out of five stars - from the Australian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) in 2006. Holden said the improved rating for the upgraded 2009 model reflected structural improvements and the addition of side impact airbags across the hatchback range. The ANCAP result was welcome as Barina was an important and significant vehicle for Holden in the small car market. Holden has sold more than 34,000 of the current model Barina since its Australian launch in 2005.
